God's Country Radio Network is a new Country Gospel Network available for broadcast in your market via Ku Band satellite uplink. The network headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rodney Baucom, programmer and Morning host for God's Country, is one of the most awarded names in gospel radio.
The network targets persons 35-64 with a blend of Country Music (with a Christian lyric), Southern Gospel, and some Contemporary Christian Music. This format meets the need of an audience that is hungry for good Country music with a positive Christian message.
Consider the success of American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood’s, debut single. “Jesus, Take the Wheel” was released to radio on October 18, 2005. It received so much airplay that it debuted at #39 on the Billboard Country Chart in its first week, setting a record. It eventually reached #1 for 6 consecutive weeks, and was only two weeks shy of Connie Smith’s record of an 8 week run back in 1964-1965.
Randy Travis topped the Country Music Charts in May of 2003 with his song “Three Wooden Crosses” which later went on to win the “Song of the Year” award from the Country Music Association.
These are just 2 examples of the tremendous success that Country Music, with Gospel lyrics, is having. Listen to the demo, and you’ll agree . . . there’s a big audience waiting to tune into God's Country.
